We give thanks for our Stewardship Team lead by Pam Hupp and Jim Wallace...

They have been dropping stewardship pebbles into the waters of CUMC for the past month..

They have give us some awesome waves to ride on and think on...



Well...the big wave to ride is this weekend...



It is called the Consecration Wave....



It is time that each of us in our way ride the consecration wave of our commitment to Jesus Chrsit and CUMC...



It is time to separate the watchers and the riders...

(that is something that Jesus would say)



Watchers-----give nothing...stand on the sidelines and complain...want and want from God ...

biggest ones who expect the most from the church but give nothing in return..

miss the mark of discipleship that Christ offers..



Riders---try to give of their prayers...their talents...their witness, their service and their gifts to the Lord through the church. Willing to roll up their sleeves and work for Christ. Trust in God and the leaders who lead...



So...I guess it is time to separate....



Watchers.....

Riders...



for those of you who want to be a rider....come and expect some awesome waves this weekend as we get ready to make our commitment to Christ and his church...

Are you selfish?

Come on now...answer as if God was asking..



Are you Selfish?



We all are very selfish....in fact as Chrsitians sometimes were are very selfish.

We want God to do it our way...when we want it and how we want it..



We want.....we want...we want...



Sometimes Christians....churches...are on the wrong road...they are on the road to selfish ambition..they are doing things they want to do...not what God wants..



so...we need to remember that God will turn us around from selfish Amition to Humble Service..



THat is what this weekend is all about...

Turning around from all the selfish ambitions to the humble service that God calls us to be about.

What a special weekend when we honor those who have gone to be with the Lord this past year...What a time to remember those who are the living saints that God has placed in our lives today....

This weekend: From Trust In Self To Trust in God"



So how much do you trust yourself?

Alot of people would first say....oh...not that much..

but are actions speak louder than our words....

We usually say we don't put our self on the high trust level...but we do by the way we act and the way we live out our lives.....



some times we get on the wrong road....going tjhe wrong way..

I call it the road of the SELF...

We find ourselves doing every thing for our selves....and we end up being so selfish that we trust in ourselves...



In a way we are limiting God and put God in the outer part of our lives..

untill........................................we come in contact with something...someone that we cannot deal with...a problem that we cannot over come...



So...We need God's GPS..

to get on the right road..



This weekend I will be shaing From Trust in Self To Trust in God..



So bring your selfish road signs to worship and let God deal with them
