We are getting closer and closer to the great day of Christmas...

Our Advent journey continues ont this fourth weekend of Advent..

We light the pink candle on the advent wreath as a symbol of the peace that comes with God's revelation in Jesus Christ. The Christ child has been called the Prince of Peace...



This weekend we will share around the message "Small Towns"

Micah calls us to consider: "But You Bethlehem though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me the one who will be ruler over Israel...



We will be htinking about God coming to us in the small towns...the small ordinary ways but with extraordinary power and love. Bethlehem reminds us that God can use ordinary people and ordinary places in an extraordinary way...



So come and share int his small way the excellent way of his son....

Singing in the season of Advent is a special time..

Now I know that the tradition is to sing Advent hymns...we sing alot of them but sometimes we place one of the Chistmas carols in the midst of the service to remind us of the joy that is coming..

This weekend we wll be led by the prophet Zephaniah...

"Sing aloud, o daughte of Zion, shout, O Isreal, Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. Do not fear....do not let your hands grow weak....The Lord your God is in your midst..God will renew you in his love, God will exult over you with loud singing..



We are going to celebrate God singing over us..renewing us...giving us his love..



What a great weeknd of worship we will have..

This weekend in Advent the gospel is pointing to the person of John the Baptist...


He comes on the scene proclaiming a radical, up front in the face message...





Repent...


Prepare...


He is not messing around with his message but comes with a great deal of passion and might to proclaim the coming of Christ.





I am excited to have Troy Miller sharing with me in this weekend's message with me..


We will be sharing the message in a way that is a symbol of the message of John The Baptist..


radical...upfront...passionate and bold as we proclaim the message of the Advent III.

Hard to believe that we just had turkey....celebrated Thanksgiving and now are turning the corner into Advent...

Advent is that season of preparation leading up to the great day of Christmas..



We will be using many symbols during this season..



The Advent Wreath will help us spiritually journey in the 4 weeks with the Advent Candles..

The Christ Candle in the center of the Advent wreath is the symobol of the birth of Christ..

We will lighting that candle on Christmas Eve..



The colors of purple and blue signify the coming of a King....



The Advent Paraments that adorn the front of the sanctuary share the symbols of this great season..



So...let this season begin....



As we spiritually prepare for Christmas may our Advent be a journey of spiritual preparation..

What a special weekend as we gather as the church community the week of Thanksgiving to share in dynamic weekend worship.

The church liturgical calendar calls us to celebrate Christ the King..We will be sharing in the weekend worship that Christ is Our King.....

We will be sharing the celebrating of Thanksgiving as I share the message: "Good News About Thanksgiving"

We will be offering our Thanksgiving Offering to God...

We will also be sharing in Holy Communion.

Due to the flue season communion will be served in individual pieces of bread and individual cups. We want to be as safe as possible in sharing the elements..



Then on Sunday Night...we will be celebrating the THANK FEST..

THANK FEST....

6PM Thank Fest Dinner---delicious catered turkey dinner...with all the trimmings..

cost is my generous donation

7pm SERVICE OF THANKS-- a wonderful service of music and giving thanks to God..
